Terms of Service
Deadpoint · Last updated 8 September 2026
Plain English wherever it can be. These terms are a contract between you and the company that makes Deadpoint, and they cover what the app is, what you're paying for, and what happens when something goes wrong.
1. Who we are
Deadpoint is provided by R. T. Sullivan Consulting Limited, a company registered in England and Wales, trading as Deadpoint, at Unit 2, 02 High Weald House, Glovers End, Bexhill-on-Sea, TN39 5ES, United Kingdom. In these terms, "we", "us" and "our" mean that company; "you" means you, the person using the app.
You can reach a real person at support@getdeadpoint.co.uk.
2. Agreeing to these terms
By downloading, signing in to, or using Deadpoint, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree to them, don't use the app — and if you've already paid, contact us and we'll help you sort it out with the relevant app store.
These terms sit alongside the rules of the store you downloaded from. Apple and Google each have their own terms covering the purchase itself, and those apply to the transaction between you and them.
3. Who can use Deadpoint
You must be at least 16 years old to create an account. Deadpoint prescribes real training loads, and it is not designed or intended for children.
Deadpoint is built for intermediate and advanced climbers. There is deliberately no beginner tier. If you have been climbing less than a couple of years, we'd rather you didn't buy it — see the research page for why we say so out loud.
4. What Deadpoint is
Deadpoint builds a structured climbing training plan from answers you give it, then recommends one session each day based on the sessions you have actually logged. It is software that applies a set of rules. It is not a coach, a physiotherapist, or a medical service.
Every recommendation is exactly that — a recommendation. You choose what you actually do, and you remain responsible for that choice.
5. Your account
You sign in with your email address and a one-time code. We don't store passwords, and there isn't one to lose. Keep access to your email account secure, because anyone who can read your email can sign in as you.
You're responsible for what happens under your account. Tell us promptly at support@getdeadpoint.co.uk if you think someone else has got into it.
6. Subscriptions, trials and billing
Deadpoint is sold as a subscription: £0.99 per month or £9.99 per year. The monthly plan starts with a 7-day free trial. Prices include VAT where applicable and may vary by country and currency.
- Payment is taken by Apple or Google, not by us. We never see or store your card details.
- Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period until you cancel.
- If you don't cancel a free trial before it ends, it converts to a paid subscription and you are charged for the first period.
- We may change prices. If we do, the change applies from your next renewal, and the store will tell you before it takes effect. You can cancel rather than accept it.
7. Cancelling and refunds
You can cancel at any time, and you keep access until the end of the period you've already paid for. There's nothing to email us about:
- iOS: Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Deadpoint → Cancel.
- Android: Play Store → your profile → Payments & subscriptions → Deadpoint → Cancel.
Refunds are handled by the store that took your payment, under Apple's or Google's own refund policies. We can't process a refund directly, but if something has gone wrong, email us and we will help you make the case.
Your statutory rights. If you're a consumer in the UK or EU you normally have a 14-day right to cancel a purchase of digital content. Because the app gives you immediate access on purchase, that right may not apply once you've started using it. Nothing in these terms takes away rights you have under consumer law that cannot be excluded.
8. Acceptable use
Use Deadpoint for your own training. Please don't:
- share, resell or redistribute your access, or the training content inside the app;
- copy, scrape or republish the app's programmes, exercise content or engine output as your own;
- reverse-engineer, decompile or tamper with the app, except where the law explicitly allows it;
- attempt to break, overload or gain unauthorised access to our systems or another person's account.
9. Training risk and health
This is the section that matters most. Climbing and finger training carry a real risk of injury, including to tendons, pulleys and joints — injuries that can take months to heal.
By using Deadpoint you accept that:
- you train at your own risk, and you are responsible for the loads you actually choose to put through your body;
- you should warm up properly, progress gradually, and stop immediately for anything sharp, sudden, or that feels wrong;
- a recommendation from the app is not an instruction, and is never a reason to train through pain;
- you should get clearance from a doctor or physiotherapist before starting structured training if you have an existing injury, a medical condition, or any reason to think training could harm you.
The injury flags in the quiz add general prevention work and caution notes. They are not treatment, and they are not an assessment of your injury.
10. Not medical advice
Deadpoint is not a medical device. It does not diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any condition, and nothing in the app or on this site is medical advice. If something hurts day to day, see a physiotherapist before training through it.
11. Our content and yours
The app, its programmes, exercise content, rules engine, text, design and branding belong to us or our licensors. Your subscription buys you a personal, non-transferable right to use the app — not ownership of anything in it.
Your training data stays yours. The sessions and weights you log belong to you. We store and process them only to run the app for you, as described in our privacy policy.
12. Availability and changes
We try to keep Deadpoint working and available, but we can't promise it will never be unavailable. The app depends on services we don't control, including the app stores and our hosting and database providers.
We may add, change or remove features as the app develops. If we make a change that substantially reduces what you're paying for, you can cancel and, where the law requires it, seek a proportionate refund through the store.
13. Our liability to you
Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited.
Subject to that: we are not liable for injury, loss or damage arising from training you choose to do, from your reliance on a recommendation, or from your failure to seek medical advice where you should have. We are not liable for loss of profit, loss of opportunity, or indirect or consequential losses.
Where we are liable to you for something else, our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us for Deadpoint in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim.
If you're a consumer, you get the benefit of any mandatory protections of the law of the country you live in.
14. Ending this agreement
You can stop using Deadpoint at any time, cancel your subscription through the store, and delete your account in the app (Settings → Delete Account).
We may suspend or end your access if you seriously or repeatedly breach these terms — for example by sharing access commercially or attacking our systems. Where it's reasonable to do so, we'll tell you why first and give you a chance to put it right.
15. Your data
What we collect, why, where it's stored and how to get it deleted is set out in the privacy policy, which forms part of these terms. In short: your email, your session log, your exercise weights and your subscription status — no advertising, no analytics SDKs, no selling data to anyone.
16. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the app changes or the law does. If a change materially affects your rights, we'll update the date at the top and, where it's significant, tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect. Continuing to use Deadpoint after that means you accept the updated terms.
17. Law, disputes and contact
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. If you live elsewhere in the UK or in the EU, you may also bring proceedings in your own country, and you keep the mandatory protections of your local law.
If something's gone wrong, email us first — most things get sorted that way: support@getdeadpoint.co.uk. We aim to reply within a few working days.
Summary, not a substitute
The short version: train sensibly, it's a recommendation not an instruction, we don't take your money directly or sell your data, and if you get hurt training we can't be responsible for the loads you chose to lift. The sections above are what actually binds.
